‘Arts For Hunger’ event at Alpine Arts Center in Edwards
Vail, CO Colorado
EDWARDS, Colorado – The public is invited to join artists of all ages Friday night at Alpine Arts Center in Edwards for the first-time Arts For Hunger fundraiser to benefit The Vail Valley Salvation Army Food Pantry and Nourish the Children. Artists of all ages will be creating artwork at the event based on the theme of hunger, and while they work the public is invited to join in the creative energy and enjoy appetizers, refreshments, live music by Allan Finney, and shop an auction table of gift items donated by local businesses. At the end of the evening, there will be a silent and live auction to raise money through the artwork created at the event.
“The idea behind Arts For Hunger came from Jodi Link, owner of Activity Sitters, and I thought it was a unique and exciting idea for a fundraiser at Alpine Arts Center,” says Lauren Merrill, owner of Alpine Arts Center. “We are committed to bringing the community together around the arts, and I can’t think of a better way to unite artists and art enthusiasts around such an important cause.”
More than 20 artists will participate in the event, including an ice sculptor, a potter, painters, mixed-media artists and more.
The price of the event is $10 per person, and it is a family-friendly event. Artists will begin creating at 5:30 p.m. and finish by 8:30 p.m., at which time the silent auction will conclude and a live auction will take place for select pieces. Alpine Arts Center is located in the first level of the Edwards Commercial Park.
