Aspen Santa Fe Ballet returns to Beaver Creek
Following three successful performances on the Vilar Performing Arts Center’s stage, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (ASFB) returns for an encore evening of contemporary dance on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The company is known for its versatile and gifted troupe of young dancers who perform an eclectic repertoire of pieces by some of the world’s foremost choreographers.
Over the years, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has grown to become a multi-faceted entity, both as an internationally recognized dance company and as one of the largest dance presenters in the country. As the company travels to cities far and wide, at home in Aspen and Santa Fe, it presents top level dance companies throughout the year. ASFB’s umbrella extends equally to its capacity as a center for learning, with a thriving dance school and a much-celebrated Mexican folkloric dance outreach program for children.
The evening program at the Vilar is scheduled to include: “Uneven” by Barcelona born and Munich-based choreographer Cayetano Soto; “In Hidden Seconds” by Nicolo Fonte with music by John Tavener; and “Red Sweet” by Finnish choreographer Jorma Elo with music by Antonio Vivaldi and Heinrich Biber.
With its adventurous repertoire and beautiful western landscapes, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet appeals as a gathering place for the finest dancers and choreographers in the world. The organization remains committed to expanding and enriching the world of dance.
Tickets for Aspen Santa Fe Ballet are $55 and are available online at vilarpac.org, by phone at 888-920-ARTS(2787) or in person at the Vilar Center box office in Beaver Creek.
