ASPEN — Encountering the Stranger is a two-and-a-half day symposium bringing world-renowned scholars, clergy, artists and theologians to examine the phenomenon of interacting with strangers.
The free event takes place Sunday through Wednesday at the Aspen Jewish Community Center.
“The subject is critical,” said Imam Jamal Rahman, author of “The Fragrance of Faith: The Enlightened Hear of Islam. “In our pluralistic world, the need to encounter the stranger is not only a question of hospitality. It is a matter of our survival.”
