Regardless, we are now aware that Battle Mountain High School graduate Tyson Nelson received his bachelor’s degree in English/communications from Fort Lewis College at winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 17, 2004.Good work and best of luck, Tyson!

Singing across the seaWhitney Simmonds is off on a European tour.The Vail Mountain School grad, who’s now a sophomore music major at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, will head to Austria and the Czech Republic as a member of the Colby College Chorale. The 70-student chorale will perform in Vienna and Prague.

The Battle Mountain cheer team will be holding tryouts starting Monday, April 11, through Friday, April 15, for their fall teams. From 4-6 p.m. An informational meeting will be held Monday at 4 p.m. Call Coach Kay at 845-5471 with questions.
