Attempted burglary reported in Vail Village

VAIL, Colorado – Vail police are again seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in another attempted burglary in Vail. Sometime between 3:30 and 5:30 a.m. Vendetta’s restaurant at 291 Bridge St. was broken into. The suspect entered through a window and was inside the restaurant for a significant amount of time. The suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining any money or other products of value.

This most recent burglary attempt comes on the heels of several others, including the Red Lion, Up the Creek and Axel’s. Vail Police suspect the same person is responsible in all of these crimes. Video surveillance of the suspect indicates he is a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 150 to 180 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black ski mask and baseball hat. The suspect was also carrying a backpack containing a variety of tools, including a cordless drill and several pry tools.

Businesses are asked to take extra precautions to secure money, valuables and personal information, as well as ensuring all doors and windows are locked at the end of business.—

Anyone with information or question regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Vail Police Department at 479-2200, and can remain anonymous. A reward will be available for anyone with information that leads to the identification or arrest of this suspect.
