Have you ever dreamed of dancing on stage in four-inch stilettos? Or know someone who has? Get your tutus fluffed, your bustiers cleaned, break out your boas and gear up for “The Time Warp” because the Vail Valley Theatre Company is bringing “Rocky Horror Show Live” back to the valley this October, and you have an opportunity to become a cast member.

The Vail Valley Theatre Company will host auditions Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Battle Mountain High School in Edwards. They are seeking talented performers for every role; including a chorus of gyrating, stretching, singing sexy phantoms.

Storyline

The storyline begins with reluctant lovers Brad Majors and Janet Weiss who end up knocking on the door of an old castle after a flat tire in the desolate, rainy countryside. The collection of characters such as Magenta, Riff Raff, Columbia and Dr. Frank N. Furter increase Brad and Janet’s unease. Trips to mad scientific laboratories, mistaken identities and seductions increase the tension of this madcap musical.

The Vail Valley Theatre Company is excited to announce the show is under the new artistic direction of Nick Sugar from Denver. Sugar has served as a director choreographer, actor and instructor for almost every theater in the Denver area for the past few years. Previously, he lived and worked in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York. Sugar has been awarded several Henry Awards, Denver Post Ovation Awards, The Best of Westword and most recently received 12 Henry nominations for his production of “Hair,” which took home the award for Outstanding Ensemble.
