Australian importer at vin48 in Avon Wednesday
August 17, 2010
AVON, Colorado – Selected wines from Old Bridge Cellars Imports Australian portfolio will be showcased at Avon’s vin48 tonight as part of the restaurant and wine bar’s weekly tasting series. Founded in 1990, Old Bridge Cellars is a importer of regionally focused Australian wines. Based in Napa Valley, Old Bridge Cellars imports wines that demonstrate a true sense of regional style; their wines are unique reflections of individual sites. Denver resident and Old World Cellars wine educator Chris Rowe will be in attendance to educate and pour his favorite summer Australian wines.
“Most people think of Australia and immediately think Shiraz,” said Greg Eynon, co-owner of vin48. “This tasting will be a great opportunity to taste a broader range of varietals and wine making styles from Australia.”
Vin48’s chef/owner, Charles Hayes, will pair the wines with appetizers in the restaurant’s wine bar.
The event is part of vin48’s summer tasting series, which takes place every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Vin48 serves wines from visiting winemakers, importers and industry insiders, and pairs it with Hayes’ cuisine. All the wines served are available for purchase at discounted prices from Beaver Liquors in Avon. For more information, call 970-748-9463.
