Author McKay Jenkins to visit Edwards eatery
EDWARDS – McKay Jenkins will visit eat! drink! in Edwards April 4 for The Bookworm’s second edition of its Meet the Author Book Club series.
Jenkins, author of several outdoor nonfiction, including “The Last Ridge,” “White Death: Tragedy and Heroism in an Avalanche Zone” and “Bloody Falls of the Coppermine: Madness and Murder in the Arctic Barren Lands,” will talk about his books and research from 5-7 p.m. at the gourmet wine and cheese shop in Edwards.Jenkins, whose book “The Last Ridge” tells the story of the 10th Mountain Division in WWII, spent much time in Colorado researching and writing. His book has been endorsed by the Colorado Ski Museum, as well as senators John McCain and George McGovern. McKay Jenkins has backpacked, paddled, bicycled and skied in wilderness all over the world. He has written for Outside, Outdoor Explorer and Orion, among many other publications. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia and a Ph.D. in English from Princeton. A former staff writer for The Atlanta Constitution, he currently teaches literature and nonfiction writing at the University of Delaware. Jenkins lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two dogs.
