Authorities ID Denver store clerk shot to death
DENVER, Colorado ” Authorities have released the name of a Denver convenience store clerk who was shot and killed over the weekend.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner says 27-year-old Natnael Mulugeta died of a perforating rifle wound to the chest. His death was ruled a homicide.
Police say a man entered a 7-Eleven in south Denver around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and shot Mulugeta before driving away in a silver vehicle. The clerk called 911 from an alley near the store, though it’s unclear how he ended up there.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died about two hours later.
7-Eleven spokeswoman Margaret Chabris says Mulugeta had worked at the store for five years and was working alone when he was shot.
Authorities have not released a possible motive in the case.
