Authorities: No credible threat of armed party at Battle Mountain High School
An EC alert sent Tuesday at at 11:49 a.m. reports law enforcement officials responded to Battle Mountain High School for a report of an armed party. After a thorough search of the building, no threat was detected.
All students are safe and the school has returned back to its normal schedule.
Tuesday’s threat follows a bomb threat called into the high school in Edwards on Wednesday, Sept. 18, that led to an evacuation of the school and cancellation of classes for the day as authorities searched the building.
Local and federal law enforcement have determined that the morning’s bomb threat was not credible and originated outside of the United States.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Unit, along with other county agencies, conducted several comprehensive searches of the school property. Those searches utilized bomb detection dogs and assistance from state and federal agencies.
