Avon candidates come forward

Vail, CO Colorado

AVON, Colorado ” Former Avon mayor and county commissioner candidate Buz Reynolds is apparently interested in returning to the Avon Town Council.

Reynolds, who was on the council from 1996 to 2004 and served as mayor for two years, has picked up a nomination petition for this year’s election, but hadn’t returned it as of Wednesday, said town clerk Patty McKenny. Reynolds also ran unsuccessfully as an independent for county commissioner in 2004.

There are three seats up-for-grabs on the council this year ” seats currently held by Amy Phillips, Kristi Ferraro and Tamra Nottingham Underwood, who were all elected in 2004.

Phillips is the only person so-far to return a completed nomination petition, and is the only “official” candidate as of Wednesday, McKenny said.

Petitions have also been picked up, but not returned yet, by Nottingham-Underwood and Sharon Peach.
