Avon chief joins highway safety committee

AVON, Colorado ” Avon police Chief Brian Kozak has been appointed to a national highway safety committee.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police Committee on Highway Safety studies traffic laws, crashes and accident invesitgation, and makes policy recommendations to lawmakers and various government agencies.
Kozak is one of the committee’s two representatives from Colorado. He will attend his first meeting in Branson, Mo., in June, where the committee will talk about federal highway funding and the role drive fatigue plays in accidents.
