Avon cleanup week set for April 16-20
Vail, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado – Due to the unseasonably warm weather, Avon’s cleanup week is scheduled early this year, from April 16-20. If you have unwanted materials including large items such as washers, dryers or furniture, now is the time to throw them away. Best of all, removal is free.
Starting April 16, town residents can contact the Avon Public Works Department to schedule a pickup for unwanted small and large items. A town crew will come to your home to pick up the materials between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Items must be placed curbside. The staff will take your materials, free of charge, to the Eagle County Landfill.
Town crews will take almost anything except tires and construction trash or hazardous and toxic waste items such as paint, motor oil and batteries. Refrigerators or freezers will not be accepted, but individuals can take them to the Eagle County Landfill for recycling as long as the Freon has been removed.
Vail Honeywagon will be donating a dumpster for use at Avon’s Swift Gulch facility to accommodate extra yard waste and disposed materials.-
Additionally, Eagle County Landfill offers a punch card for disposing of spring clean up waste. For more information about the landfill, call 970-328-3470. For more information on Avon’s cleanup week, call 970-748-4118.-
