Avon conducting community survey

Daily Staff Report
Vail, CO Colorado

AVON, Colorado ” About 2,000 randomly selected residents are participating in a survey asking about Avon town government’s performance.

The first survey was mailed out about a week again and a follow-up survey will be mailed out soon, the town says. Once responses are received, the data will be analyzed and the survey’s results will be reported later this summer. Results will be available at http://www.avon.org,

“The town has not surveyed residents in this manner previously and this is an exciting opportunity for residents to help the town to better understand their needs and desires and to evaluate how well the town is doing its job,” said Becky Lawlor, community relations officer.

“It’s their chance to have a say in how and what services the town provides and where taxpayers’ money should be spent in the future,” Lawlor says.

Residents who participate in the survey will be entered in a drawing to win an Avon Recreation Center punch card.

A survey asking residents about the future of Nottingham Park was sent out a few months ago. The town did not receive as many responses as it had wanted and is asking for comments on the park from participants in the community survey.
