Avon eatery hosts wine tasting series every Wednesday

AVON — Winemaker/owner Peter Rosback of Sineann will pour five of his wines Wednesday at vin48 as part of the Summer Tasting Series in Avon.

Sineann is a small producer of highly sought after wine in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Rosback sources his fruit from some of the best vineyards in the region; Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley and the Hood River Valley; Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel from the Columbia Valley; Gewurztraminer from the Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge. Always in pursuit of top fruit sources, he spends his springs in New Zealand crafting delicious Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Marlbourough and Central Otago.

In all, the Sineann lineup includes 30 wines from Oregon, Washington, California and New Zealand



Rosback started his winemaking career in 1985 with his first pinot noir and a few years later began working at storied Willamtte winery Elk Cove. in 1994 he launched Sineann with then partner David O’Reilly who has since moved on with his own label Owen Roe. Rosback is known for crafting intense, fruit-forward wines that show great energy and balanced acidity.

Charles Hays, vin48’s chef and owner, will pair the wines with appetizers on the restaurant’s patio. The event is part of vin48’s summer tasting series, which takes place every Wednesday and features winemakers/importers form the world’s best wine growing region. The wines are paired with Hays’ cuisine. The event is $25, which includes wine tasting and appetizers. All wines served are available at discounted prices from series partner Beaver Liquors in Avon.
