Avon: Ecstasy sting nets 1

AVON, Colorado ” A Denver man was arrested Thursday at the Denny’s restaurant after he’d agreed to sell an undercover officer 100 ecstasy tables, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office says.
Jared Christiansen, 29, had agreed to meet to the officer and sell the drug for $850 plus travel expenses, the Sheriff’s Office says.
Instead of selling the drug, Christiansen intended to steal the officer’s money and when officers in the Eagle County Drug Task Force attempted to arrest him, he ran into the restaurant and into the men’s restroom the Sheriff’s Office says.
Christiansen flushed some marijuana down the toilet just before he was arrested, the Sheriff’s Office say.
He was held at the Eagle County jail on $50,000 bond and was charged with criminal intent to distribute a schedule I substance, a felony. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
Christiansen was previously arrested for sale of ecstasy in Florida and is on probation for domestic violence on the Front Range, the Sheriff’s Office says.
The Avon Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the arrest.
