Avon elects new mayor, mayor pro tem

AVON, Colorado – Avon Municipal Judge Buck Allen swore in incumbents Rich Carroll and Dave Dantas, and new members Chris Evans and Todd Goulding, to the Avon Town Council Tuesday night.

The new council elected Rich Carroll, with a 6-1 vote, as the town’s new mayor.

Councilwoman Amy Phillips nominated Kristi Ferraro for mayor, but Ferraro declined the nomination because she said she didn’t feel she’d have the time to fulfill the job’s role.

She did throw her name into the hat for mayor pro tem, however, a position she felt she could fulfill adequately.

The council elected Ferraro as mayor pro tem with a 4-2 vote.
