Avon hosts Colorado Municipal League

AVON, Colorado – The town of Avon hosted colleagues from the Colorado Municipal League on Wednesday night at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa.- Members of CML’s District 12 gathered for a dinner meeting to hear updates from CML on Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101, and on CML legislation and policy developments.-

The Colorado Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization which represents cities and towns collectively in matters before the state and federal government, and it provides a wide range of information services to assist municipal officials in managing governments.

Attendees at the dinner meeting also heard from Avon’s Jenny Strehler, director of public works and transportation, on the Avon Community Waste Heat Recovery Project. This project was developed in collaboration with the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District and is partially funded with a $1.5 million grant from the Governor’s Energy Office.-

District 12 municipal officials attending this meeting came from Vail, Minturn, Eagle, Gypsum, Frisco, Winter Park, Fraser and Grand Lake.
