Avon liquor stores pass compliance checks
On August 3, 2006 the Avon Police Department in cooperation with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office completed compliance checks on all establishments in Eagle County that sell packaged liquor.
The Avon Police Department is proud to report that all five establishments in Avon were in compliance. Employees of Avon Liquors, Beaver Liquors, City Market, Joes Liquor and Wal-Mart all asked for identification and would not sell alcohol to the volunteer underage decoy.
Brian Kozak, Chief of Police for the Avon Police Department said, “I am very pleased with the local compliance of the liquor laws. Alcohol related crashes are the number one leading cause of death for our youth and by working together with our liquor establishments we can protect our young citizens from tragedy.”
The Avon Police Department conducts alcohol compliance checks at random times throughout the year.
