Avon man arrested for public urination
When you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go – but a police car isn’t the best option, as one Avon resident learned last night.
Avon resident David Wohlfarth III, 26, was caught urinating on a police vehicle in the parking lot at Finnegan’s Wake Irish Pub in Avon early in the morning on July 4. Wohlfarth was drunk, Avon Police Chief Brian Kozak said.
Kozak said this is the first time he’s heard of someone urinating on a police car in his 25 years of service, although he’s sure it happens when officers aren’t around.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of someone doing it in public with a lot of police officers in the area,” Kozak said. “He takes the idiot award for the day.”
Wohlfarth was arrested at 2 a.m. July 4 for criminal injury to property, disorderly conduct, public urination and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was held at the Eagle County jail overnight.
Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
Other than Wohlfarth’s arrest, July 4 festivities have been relatively quiet so far, Kozak said. Only one arrest was made last night, compared to around 20 arrests during last year’s Avon fireworks display.
