Avon man burned, friend arrested

AVON, Colorado ” On October 18, 2008, a backyard party at an Avon home turned tragic after childhood acquaintances had a disagreement.
The confrontation became physical and resulted in one 25 year-old male allegedly being pushed into a bonfire. Several witnesses were present at the time of the incident and pulled the victim out of the fire.
He was transported to Vail Valley Medical Center and then transferred to a Denver area hospital. He sustained 3rd degree burns to 10 percent of his body and was initially in critical condition. He has since been released from the hospital.
Mitchell Primmer, of Edwards, is currently being charged with first degree assault and being held on a $15,000 bond in connection with this incident. Primmer has also been in custody since October 20, 2008, as a result of a parole violation.
