Avon officials call annual spring clean-up a success
Avon, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado ” The town of Avon, Colorado hauled away a record 200 cubic yards, or about 35 tons, of household waste from residents in this year’s spring clean-up.
Public Works Director Jenny Strehler said residents were very tidy and organized this year and did a great job following the disposal rules. Residents disposed of household junk like old couches, appliances and yard waste.
Eagle County generously waived disposal fees during the town’s clean-up, providing residents with the opportunity to get rid of large items they would otherwise have to pay to throw away.
A survey showed a good bit of support for local government action to bolster workforce housing in town. For now though, that support stops at supporting a new tax for funding.
