Avon police chief headed to management institute
Avon, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado ” Chief Brian Kozak, of the Avon, Colorado Police Department,-is one of 32 police chiefs and sheriffs accepted to attend the Rural Executive Management Institute in Reno, Nev.-
The intensive four-day course is designed to assist rural law enforcement leaders in topics dealing with ethical issues, decision making, communication and community preparedness. The institute will pay for all the travel expenses associated with the training under a federal grant.- –
“This educational and training session is a unique opportunity for rural law enforcement leaders to confront a variety of common problems facing their communities to explore workable solutions,” Kozak said.
A survey showed a good bit of support for local government action to bolster workforce housing in town. For now though, that support stops at supporting a new tax for funding.
