AVON, Colorado ” The Avon Recreation Center be closed for spring cleaning from Sunday until May 9. The pool will remain closed until May 11.

On May 9 the front lobby and upstairs fitness floor will re-open. The locker rooms and pool will not re-open until May 11, which will allow for the new locker room floor to set-up and dry.

Starting May 10, the rec center will also have new Sunday hours, from noon to 7 p.m.

The rec center also is selling discount corporate punch cards, which can be used by business owners and employees. A 25-punch corporate card costs $130, a 15 percent discount. Punch cards must be purchased with a corporate check and are good for two years.

The rec center also will be gearing up for all of its youth summer programs, including its summer pool pass for kids, Something Fun Summer Day Camps, swim lessons, tennis lessons, a triathlon prep class to gear up for Labor Day weekend’s IronKids Triathlon, and more.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

-For adults, the Saturday Summer Tournament Series starts this year. On Saturday from July through October. Each Saturday tournament is a different sport ” from 3-on-3 basketball, horseshoes, bocce ball, ultimate Frisbee and more. The rec center will also hold triathlon prep class, tennis lessons, ballroom dance and west coast swing classes.
