Avon: Series of gardening classes begins Wednesday

AVON, Colorado The Mountain Adapted Landscape series kicks off Wednesday at the Avon Library with Introduction to Mountain Gardening, presented by Laurel Potts from Colorado State University Extension. This free evening educational series runs Wednesdays through May 28, and is designed for both novice and veteran mountain gardeners.Space is limited and pre-registration is requested. Refreshments begin at 5 p.m., followed by the lecture and discussion from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays presentation will focus on the mountain environment and the challenges it poses to gardening and landscaping in Eagle County. This is a good overview for anyone, but especially those new to the area or to mountain gardening Potts said. Youll learn about plant materials, techniques, and other tips for a beautiful landscape in our mountain climate.The Mountain Adapted Landscape series is presented in partnership by CSU Extension, Eagle Valley Library District and Eagle River Water & Sanitation District.
