Avon to consider short-term rentals
Avon, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado- Avon’s Town Council Tuesday will consider establish “lodges” as an allowed use in town core areas to permit short term rentals.
The town’s Planning and Zoning Commission, which advises the council, recommended approving the new law.
If passed, this ordinance will allow short term rentals in a specific core area of the town. However, in many residential areas not included in the overlay district, such as Wildridge and other areas not zoned for lodges, short term rentals of 31 days or less will remain unlawful.
All short-term rentals are subject to both sales and accommodations tax. Those wishing to rent their property short term can download a sales tax and accommodations tax license online at http://www.avon.org/acommodationstax or call Sam Sodic at 970-748-4019.
The public is encouraged to attend Tuesday’s Town Council meeting and give their input on this ordinance. If you are unable to attend, but would like to submit comments, please e-mail comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
