Avon town clean-up day is Saturday

Daily staff report

AVON — The town of Avon will hold the second annual Town Clean-Up Day event May 13, giving volunteers a chance to clean up Avon after a long winter season.

The town will be divided into seven sections, with members of the Avon Town Council captaining each section beginning at 9 a.m. Council members will provide volunteers with trash bags, reflective vests and a voucher for a free lunch. Volunteers can report to the designated meet-up locations listed below, or meet at the Avon Performance Pavilion at 9 a.m. to register and be assigned a location.

Volunteers will be able to set full trash bags curbside, as Avon Public Works Department staff will make loops around town. At 11 a.m., all volunteers will head back to the pavilion event terrace for a free lunch with entertainment by a DJ.

Here are the seven sections and the captain for each:

• West Beaver Creek Boulevard.
