VAIL, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Pond Hockey Championships scheduled for today and Sunday have been cancelled.-

Due to the warmer temperatures and rain-snow mix we have been receiving the past 24 hours, the ice on Nottingham Lake is not suitable for pond hockey or public skating.-

“We are extremely disappointed. However, whenever you are dealing with Mother Nature and her wrath, you need to be flexible because you never know what you are going to get.-We are thankful that last weekend’s youth divisions had a beautiful sheet of ice-and fantastic weather which made for a very memorable weekend of pond hockey!” said Andy Clark, event organizer.
