Backcountry safety

It can be difficult for Eagle County youth to develop the proper skills and training to play in the backcountry safely, and the Glide Project, with its launch event March 14, aims to bring avalanche education to local students. A collaboration between Paragon Guides, White Room Adventures, White River National Forest and the Chris Anthony Project, the Glide Project will offer an age appropriate avalanche education and snow science curriculum for students in Eagle County. Join the Glide Project on March 14 at 5 p.m. at Battle Mountain High School in Edwards to learn more about the program and the impact it will have on youth in mountain communities. There will be a silent auction, entertainment as well as a presentation by Anthony, a professional skier and education advocate. The event is free and open to the public.
