Barbecue spice gives woman a scare

Daily Staff Report

AVON ” The strange substance falling from above was killing plants and insects.

After two weeks, an Avon woman who lives in an apartment complex on West Beaver Creek Boulevard tasted the grainy substance that had been falling on her deck. She took it to the Avon police department and told an officer it tasted weird.

The officer, Matt Westenfelder, called firefighters in case the substance was harmful and in case it had sickened the woman. She was OK and a test determined the substance was onion salt.

Apparently, the person who lives above the woman was showering her with barbecue spices.
