Here’s one to stick near the top of the “gotta try it” list: Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek. Playing to the urge to eat great food in a beautiful setting, Beano’s kicks off the experience with a short, snowcat-driven sleigh ride up the side of the mountain. It’s not exactly Norman Rockwell, but the cat gets the job done quickly – leaving all the more time to enjoy Beano’s many pleasures.
The rustic log cabin is a bustling sanctuary away from the ordinary. An open kitchen highlights one side of the room, while the crack staff achieves the perfect balance of speed: fast when you want something brought to table, slower when you’re looking over the menu or the extraordinary wine list.
The prix fixe menu is classic American cuisine with a touch of Continental, ranging from appetizers of marinated duck breast and grilled ahi to entrees like Colorado rack of lamb, pheasant, salmon, swordfish and a venison chop.
It’s an experience you won’t forget.
