Beaver Creek, Colo., ” Sunday, Dec. 23, Beaver Creek opens an area of fresh powder, steep chutes and gladed terrain for skiers and snowboarders when ski patrol drops the ropes on the resort’s expert Stone Creek Chutes and Royal Elk Glades at 8:30 a.m. The opening will mark nearly 95 percent of Beaver Creek’s terrain being open for village-to-village skiing and riding across 1,700 acres served by 17 lifts.

The majority of the Stone Creek Chutes extreme and expert terrain will open Dec. 23. In its second season, the area offers spectacular mountain views with short, steep gladed runs and pitches up to 45 degrees.

The resort expects to open the Half-Barrel half-pipe within a few days. Nightly family activities are offered throughout the winter, with special holiday activities scheduled through Dec. 31.
