BEAVER CREEK, Colorado – Beaver Creek Resort has announced its event lineup for fall and winter. While ski season is just over a month away, two fall activities highlight the October calendar, quickly followed by an array of exciting winter events for all.
Beaver Creek Resort has modified its traditional Halloween event and this year will be hosting trick-or-treating and free ice skating as one of several community Halloween celebrations for kids and families. Thanks to support by Beaver Creek merchants, the following businesses will be offering Trick or Treating on Oct. 31 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Beaver Creek Village:

Ice skating is free or those dressed in Halloween costumes. A variety of shops and restaurants will also be open throughout the weekend.
Community-wide Halloween celebrations include:
Oct. 29: Eagle Halloween Carnival, 5-10 p.m.
Oct. 30: Minturn Trick or Treat, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Oct. 31: Vail/Lionshead Trick or Treat Trot, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Oct. 31: Beaver Creek Trick or Treating and complimentary Ice Skating, 3-6 p.m.
Oct. 31: Avon Fall Fun Night, 4-8 p.m.
October Cookie Contest
Beaver Creek’s sixth annual Cookie Contest is also set to take place at the end of October. The resort is seeking entries where the top five recipes will be selected to compete for bragging rights as Beaver Creek’s official Cookie Time recipe.
Submissions for the Cookie Contest will be accepted from Oct. 26-28. The official Cookie Competition takes place promptly at 2 p.m. on Beaver Creek’s opening day, Nov. 25, and guests are reminded to arrive early because the cookies are consumed quickly.
Winter Events Calendar
Nov. 27: Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition
The seventh annual Fantasy Gingerbread competition and the 29th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and fireworks display will kick off the holiday season in Beaver Creek. Festivities include a tree lighting ceremony, fireworks, carolers and Santa on a Zamboni. Check out or enter the Gingerbread Competition in Ford Hall all day.
Dec. 4-6: Audi Birds of Prey World Cup
The road to Vancouver 2010 runs straight through Beaver Creek and the countdown is underway for the only stop in the United States on the men’s alpine World Cup circuit. The race includes the premier event, the men’s downhill, on Friday, a super-combined on Saturday, followed by the giant slalom on Sunday. Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety leads the charge along with World Cup winners Marco Sullivan and Steve Nyman who have found success at Beaver Creek.

Jan 23-24: Prevention Reinvention Weekend
Join Prevention Magazine in Beaver Creek Village for a weekend of activities, demos, a winter fashion show, samplings and more all geared towards women. Discover new ideas on ways to be healthier, happier and stronger.
Jan. 23: The Talons Challenge
Ski 13 Black Diamond and Double-Black Diamond runs in one day. The Talons Challenge is a showcase of the best steeps Beaver Creek has to offer – 24,000-plus vertical feet await on Beaver Creek’s legendary World Cup Birds of Prey downhill course, in Larkspur Bowl and on the flanks of Grouse Mountain.

Jan. 28-30: 12th Annual Beaver Creek Master Chef Classic
Beaver Creek celebrates all things culinary with Bon Appetit Magazine. The classic features the Master Chef Challenge (similar to the Iron Chef competition) on Friday night and the Grand Tasting on Saturday night. Also don’t miss a full lineup of tastings, seminars and cooking classes that celebrate culinary delights and offerings from Beaver Creek chefs as well as renowned guest chefs Joey Campanaro, Cat Cora, Ming Tsai, TOJO, Francois Payard and more.
April 1-4: Vail Film Festival
Due to the Vail Film Festival’s successful growth over the past several years, the event is expanding to Beaver Creek. This year the Vilar Performing Arts Center and Ford Hall will host some of the films as well as the closing awards ceremony. April 4: Easter Eggstravaganza
Beaver Creek’s annual Easter celebration includes sunrise service on the mountain followed Eggstravaganza at Creekside Park. Kids can enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny as well as an Easter egg hunt and parents will have plenty of photo opportunities of their kids.
