Beaver Creek Bon Appetit culinary fest set for Jan. 28-31
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado Beaver Creek Resort is partnering with Bon Apptit magazine to present the Bon Apptit Culinary & Wine Focus, Jan. 28-31, 2009. Internationally acclaimed guest and Beaver Creek chefs will participate in the MasterChef Challenge, Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Ski Race, cooking classes, wine and spirits seminars and more during the 11th annual winter festival. As a bonus, this years festival will allow guests to immerse themselves in the flavors and flair of South America. Featuring guest chefs from Brazil and Argentina, the weekend will not only include the culinary elements of these countries, but also the wine, spirits and sounds that are unique to these cultures. The festival provides a unique opportunity for guests to join their favorite chefs for a weekend of palate pleasing events. Highlights for the weekend include a live concert by Mary Wilson of the Supremes, the Subaru Snowshoeing Excursion, a MasterChef Challenge, a Celebrity Chef Ski Race and the signature Grand Tasting event, which this year takes place at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Featuring Mary Wilson of the Supremes, the concert will start at 7 p.m. with specially chosen sips and bites in the Vilar Center lobby beginning at 6 p.m., prior to the show. Mary Wilson is best known as a member of the Motown soul and pop group The Supremes. Wilson is the only Supreme who remained in the group from the time it was formed in 1959, as The Primettes, until the very end, when the group was disbanded in 1977. The Supremes enjoyed 12 U.S. number-one hit records. Weve created an international stage for this years collaboration with Bon Apptit magazine. Were hosting not only Americas finest culinary and pastry talent, but also great talent from Brasil and Argentina, said Tony ORourke, executive director of the Beaver Creek Resort Company.
