Beaver Creek has big plans
Vail CO Colorado
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado – Beaver Creek Resort has some major changes in store, from a faster Rose Bowl chair lift to a new women’s downhill race course and Red Tail restaurant.
This summer, work on the Rose Bowl chair lift has already begun. The new, high speed quad will be up and running for the 2011-12 ski season.
Other major upgrades, specifically the race courses and Red Tail Camp restaurant, are still either going through the U.S. Forest Service’s approval process or further Beaver Creek Resort planning stages.
Beaver Creek spokeswoman Jen Brown said the resort is working on expanding its guest services offerings, something the resort is often recognized for as a leader within the ski industry.
“We’re very guest service-focused,” Brown said. “And really from a brand differentiation standpoint – there’s a certain expectation for people who visit Beaver Creek, so we want to step up a notch and really go that extra step.”
Even little things like signs throughout Beaver Creek Village and around the resort are being upgraded. This summer the Beaver Creek Resort Company is installing new black and gold signs for a new look and feel that is clean and sophisticated, Brown said.
And while upgrades and construction are somewhat minimal this summer, next summer is going to be a busy one.
Beaver Creek hopes to have its Forest Service approvals for the Birds of Prey courses and Red Tail Camp projects by next summer, which is when construction is expected to begin. The International Ski Federation and the Vail Valley Foundation are planning on holding the test races for the 2015 Vail Beaver Creek World Alpine Ski Championships in December of 2013, meaning the resort only has the summers of 2012 and 2013 to get the projects completed.
