Beaver Creek man makes pot bust easy

BEAVER CREEK, Colorado A man who had been smoking marijuana in his apartment opened his door to find a sheriffs deputy standing outside, according to an Eagle County Sheriffs Office report. A sheriffs deputy smelled marijuana while walking around The Tarnes. His nose led him to an apartment where he heard people talking. Then a 19-year-old man with bloodshot eyes and pale skin opened the door he stopped when he saw the deputy. When he looked at me, he appeared to be looking right through me, the deputy wrote in the report. The deputy followed the 19-year-old inside the apartment and five marijuana pipes, four water bongs and some marijuana were found. The 19-year-old and his roommate were ticketed for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

EDWARDS A bar owner was ticketed after a drunken man was seen being dragged to a car outside Rancho Viejo Restaurant & Sports Bar, according to an Eagle County Sheriffs Office report. Two men and one woman were holding the man as they walked him to their car when a sheriffs deputy pulled up asked if the man was OK. The mans head was hanging down as he sat in the back seat. He said he had had 10 to 12 beers at Rancho Viejo and then he vomited twice.The bar owner came outside and said he would take the man home. The sheriffs deputy said no. The bar owner had not served the man alcohol, he said, and pointed out that there were several opened beers in the car. The woman said the man had been drinking at Rancho Viejo.

EAGLE A man was attacked while he was going to the bathroom at Brush Creek Saloon, according to Eagle police. A 25-year-old man had his friends block the bathroom door while he punched the other man. The man in the bathroom had been hitting on the 25-year-olds girlfriend, the 25-year-old said. The 25-year-old had had a few beers, in violation of a court order that says he cannot drink alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of assault and violation of the order.



EAGLE A repeat customer who rarely bought anything at Primabera Liquors but always stole one bottle of vodka finally was caught, according to Eagle police. Each time the middle-aged man visited the store, a bottle of vodka would turn up missing.So the staff watched some surveillance video, which showed the man taking a bottle of vodka from a shelf and putting it inside his jacket. The video was shown to police, who told the staff to call them next time the customer came in.The customer came in the next day and police caught up with him as he was walking down Grand Avenue. A bottle of vodka was found in his jacket.The customer said that he had a serious drinking problem and that he relied on alcohol to help him sleep.He was ticketed for theft.

DOTSERO A fight between a woman and her boyfriend escalated into a fight between the boyfriend and the womans brother, according to the Eagle County Sheriffs Office. The boyfriend was pushing the woman and she hit him with a piece of drywall. The womans brother showed up and tried to separate the couple. He was hit on the head and he and the boyfriend started fighting. A neighbor called 911 and the boyfriend and woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and domestic violence.



EDWARDS A brick was thrown through a window in a mans home, according to an Eagle County Sheriffs Office report. A woman was on the computer in the home when she heard glass breaking. She found the red brick on the floor and a smashed window pane, which was estimated to cost $75 to replace. The Eagle Valley Enterprise contributed to this article.
