Beaver Creek opens for summer Saturday

BEAVER CREEK, Colorado Beaver Creek kicks off its summer season with the annual Blues, Brews & Barbecue festival, Saturday and Sunday. The Centennial Express Lift will be open from 9:30 a.m.- to 4:30 p.m. on the next three weekends May 23-25, May 30-31 and June 6-7. The lift will run every day between June 13 to Sept. 7.Costs for the chairlift are: Chairlift ride (per day) $20 Chairlift ride and bike haul $25 Chairlift ride and lunch $25 Chairlift ride, lunch and bike haul $30Children aged 12 and under ride the lift for free when accompanied by an adult (up to three kids ride free per adult.) Winter 08-09 season pass holders ride the lift for free and can purchase a bike haul. The Beaver Creek Golf Club is open for public play through June14. Rounds are $89 for 18 holes and $63 for nine holes. Juniors ages 7-18 can play for free with a paying adult Monday through Thursday. (One free junior round offered per paid adult.) The weekend rate for juniors ages 7-18 is $65 for 18 holes Friday through Sunday.A special twilight rate is available for all players after 3 p.m. for $60. Golfers who show proof of Eagle or Summit county residence can play 18 holes for $68 or nine holes for $55. All fees are per person and include carts and range balls.
