Beaver Creek opens for summer

BEAVER CREEK – Beaver Creek opens for the summer Saturday with the Blues, Brews & Barbecue festival.Rides on the Centennial Express chairlift are available from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following weekends: Saturday through Monday; June 4-5 and June 11-12. The lift will be open daily from June 18 to Sept. 5. Horseback rides and limited hiking and biking are also available during Memorial Day weekend, and the Beaver Creek Golf Course is open through June 15. The Blues, Brews & Barbecue includes a micro-brewery beer tasting from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and barbecue from noon to 6 p.m. Chairlift prices are as follows: • Chairlift ride: $17• Chairlift ride and bike haul: $22• Chairlift ride and lunch: $24• Chairlift ride, lunch & bike haul: $29• Bike haul only: $10Children 12 and under ride the lift for free when accompanied by an adult. Winter 04-05 season pass holders ride the lift for free and can purchase a bike haul for $10 per day. Extreme downhill biking is not permitted at Beaver Creek.
