BEAVER CREEK, Colorado – The Beaver Creek Resort opens today with three new terrain park features, a long intermediate run and the Haymeadow beginner’s area.

The mountain opens at 9 a.m., with access to the Latigo ski run via Chair 6, or the Centennial Express. There will be a total of 13 features in the Lumberyard Terrain Park, including the brand new C Rail, The Ledge Box and the Flat Down Rail, said Beaver Creek spokeswoman Jen Brown.

At 2 p.m., there will be about 5,000 chocolate cookies available to skiers and snowboarders, part of the annual competition that selects a winning recipe to be served throughout the season. Brown said to get there “promptly,” as the cookies go fast.
