BEAVER CREEK – Ski season gets underway at Beaver Creek on Wednesday with a blue run, a terrain park and beginner’s terrain. The mountain will open at 9 a.m. The Haymeadow beginner run will be served by the Buckaroo Express Gondola and several surface lifts. The Centennial Express Lift (Chair 6) will offer access to the Lumberyard Terrain Park as well as the intermediate Latigo trail. Lift tickets for Beaver Creek’s opening day will be $69 for adults, $59 for seniors and $45 for children 12 and under. “Our snowmaking and mountain operations crews have been taking advantage of the cold temperatures and natural snow to produce a good manmade surface for our guests during the Thanksgiving holiday,” said John Garnsey, chief operating officer for Beaver Creek. The Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School will open for the winter season Wednesday with private and group instruction offered for kids and adults. Two new programs are available this season. The Ultimate 4, a semi-private lesson for kids featuring the “ultimate” student to instructor ratio of no more than four, provides more individualized feedback and more one-on-one time with pros. Rates start at $247 for the lesson only or $270 including a lift ticket. Ski School Adventure Sessions pairs similarly skilled intermediate or advanced skiers and riders with a top guide to get the most our of a ski day including lift cutting privileges and technical tips for just $129 per person. Spruce Saddle Restaurant also will be open.
