Beaver Creek ski patrol holds tests March 22
Vail, CO Colorado
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado ” Ski tests will be held March 22 for people hoping to join Beaver Creek’s ski patrol next year.
“Skiers, riders and tele skiers can test their skills on a variety of terrain and show us what they’re made of prior to the end of the season,” said Beaver Creek Ski Patrol Director Addy McCord. “We’ll be evaluating each candidate’s abilities in a variety of conditions, including steeps and powder. We’re looking for men and women with strong, solid abilities in all conditions, not just finesse.”
The ski test consists of two to three runs taken under variable conditions and evaluated by ski patrollers. Participants will be told if they passed at the end of the test.
Those who pass will be invited to shadow a patroller on the following day, March 23. They will lean basic patrol skills and fill out a job application.
Hiring takes place in the fall.
Beaver Creek Ski Patrol hires a handful of new patrollers each year to join its 40-member staff.
For more information, contact Beaver Creek Ski Patrol at 845-6610. Advance reservations are required. Participants will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Patrol Headquarters at the top of the Cinch Express Lift (#8) on March 22.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
