Beaver Creek’s busy weekend gets Forest Service’s attention
Beaver Creek, CO Colorado
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado” Beaver Creek resort in Colorado exceeded its “manage to” number of 11,000 skiers on the mountain at one time both Sunday and Monday, said Don Dressler of the Forest Service.
The mountain is required to notify the Forest Service when it exceeds that number. The Forest Service then evaluates whether Beaver Creek can handle the crowds, looking at things such as handling accidents, lift lines, and restaurant crowds.
“No issues were identified, so no changes were recommended,” Dressler said.
Vail has not exceeded its “manage to” limit of 19,900 so far this year, Dressler said.
