Beaver Creek’s Food & Wine festival hosts friday night dinners
On Friday, celebrity chefs John Besh, Marc Murphy and Stephanie Izard will each co-host “Beaver Creek’s Dining Out Experience,” as part of Beaver Creek’s Food & Wine culinary weekend. A portion of the proceeds from each dinner will benefit a local nonprofit in Eagle County.Beaver Creek’s Dining Out Experience allows guests to select the chef/restaurant of their choice for a unique dining experience at Beaver Creek from 7 to 10 p.m. •Fundraiser Dinner at Allie’s Cabin. Guest chef John Besh, of New Orleans-based Besh Restaurant Group, will work with local chef Rick Weems to create a dinner with wine pairings. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Vail Symposium. The menu includes things such as lamb sirloin bruschetta with tomato chutney and fresh mint and waygu beef short ribs with horseradish gnocchi and petit covey rise vegetable. Beverages include Kalex Wines and one other wine to be determined, Kru 82 Vodka and Tres Leches Liqueur.Tickets are $400 per person. •Fundraiser Dinner at Splendido with guest chef Marc Murphy. Splendido executive chef David Walford will combine talents with New York City chef Murphy to create a dinner of food and wine delights. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bright Future Foundation. Menu items include octopus ceviche with yellow pepper gazpacho gelee; roasted Colorado lamb chops with mashed chick peas, escarole and lamb jus; and warm farina custard with honey poached apple, candied walnuts and frozen yogurt. Beverages include Schweiger Wines, Kru 82 Vodka and Tres Leches Liqueur.Tickets are $200 per person. •Fundraiser Dinner at Mirabelle with guest chef Stephanie Izard. “Top Chef” winner Izard and Beaver Creek’s Daniel Joly, executive chef and owner of Mirabelle, will create a multicourse dinner with pairings. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Vail Valley Youth Foundation. Menu items include marinated salmon with wasabi-lemon jam, smoked goat raviolis with smoked uni cream and finger limes and white chocolate mousse with hazelnut meringue and pistachio daquoise. Beverages include Three Sticks Wines, Hoegaarden Beer, Kru 82 Vodka and Tres Leches Liqueur.Tickets are $200 per person. Academy Award-winning actor Susan Sarandon is a supporter of the Vail Symposium and will attend the Allie’s Cabin dinner. Diners who purchase tickets to the Allie’s Cabin dinner also will receive an exclusive ticket to the VIP after-party at Beaver Creek’s newest restaurant, The Metropolitan, a coffee shop by day and wine bar by night.
