Best Of: Big Night Out
Any restaurant that requires no less than a sleigh-ride approach in the winter months is certain to be a big night. Beano’s is that and more. Locals and visitors alike flock to the mountain-side restaurant to celebrate anniversaries, show off for parents and get engaged. “It’s all about the service as well as the wonderful food,” says Steven Topple, executive chef. “We have some of the best servers in the Vail Valley. I am very proud to work with them all.” The antelope loin is a bestseller, served with a smoked chestnut relish, parsnip potato gratin and red currant sauce.
Not far away from Beano’s is Grouse Mountain Grill, an elegant mountain grill with prime views of the resort. Dive into one of executive chef Joe Ritchie’s sumptuous platters of duck, venison or the signature pretzel-crusted pork chops.
At the other end of the spectrum is Eagle’s Back Bowl, a bowling alley with every technical advantage ” and good food, too. The downvalley spot is an ongoing sound track of pins falling, balls rolling, and men and women alike talking up their games.
