They buy from Brazil, Guatemala, Sumatra, Ethiopia and other coffee-growing regions. The favorite drink at Joe’s continues to be the latte. “People who haven’t had our coffee before often tell us it’s the best latte or cappuccino they’ve ever had,” he says. “What’s great is we pour traditional drinks, that don’t have anything added to them. Frankly, it’s just really good coffee.”
International chain Starbucks continues to have a strong local following, as evidenced by the flurry of activity seen in the Edwards, Avon, Beaver Creek and Vail stores. Service is fast and furious, and fancy lattes top the bestseller list.
The Bookworm of Edwards has a full fleet of passionate baristas who revel in their “latte art,” those frothy designs topping each drink.
