Best Of: Place to Take Mom
Face it: Your mom is the only person who is always, always interested in you. And who could blame her? One of the things that make you so fabulous is the way you like to take her out for a little pampering. Allegria Spa at the Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek, is a full-service spa in every sense of the word. “Come and spend the full day,” says Gaye Steinke, spa director. “You feel like you’ve been someplace special. Allow lots of time, and encourage Mom to have an early start.” That will allow for some fitness classes, and she can utilize the water sanctuary before her spa treatments. Don’t skip lunch, either.
For a special dinner, La Tour in Vail Village is warm and lovely. Chef-owner Paul Ferzacca is a father of four, so he’s learned to be extra sweet to moms. The food stands alone, but the service makes it personal.
The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens in Vail is a high-altitude botanical garden. The living collection is nestled into a corner of Ford Park, and it’s easy to cruise through on a summer afternoon.
The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival brings high culture to the Rockies, with three world-class orchestras playing over five weeks. Pack a fancy picnic, buy some Champagne and enjoy the evening with Mom.
