Like most public projects in Vail, Donovan was built only after a ludicrous amount of hand-wringing and angst, coupled with the kinds of public outcry that’s normally associated with presidential politics ” which doesn’t really matter anywhere near as much as a spiffy new park. Presidents come and go; parks are forever.
Like most deliberative bodies, the Vail Town Council finally got sick of listening to the End of the World Glee Club, and decided to write the big check. With the possible exception of Mayor Rod Slifer’s salary, it’s some of the best money they ever spent.
