Best Restaurant in Eagle or Wolcott
Wolcott Yacht Club
Grand Ave. Grill
The Wolcott Yacht Club has seen some serious evolution. Summer means the biggest FAC in the valley, but winter has things changing up. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, occasionally owner Jan Jouflas utilizes a large wall in the dining room as a movie screen. Ski movies, art films, Westerns ” whatever the movie, a little something special is put on the menu. “People can come in and still get a decent meal without spending a hundred bucks,” she said. They’ve even started something new: Karaoke Fridays. “We have more rock stars in the valley than I would have thought!” The breakfast skillets and fish and Cuban tacos are here to stay, but try the specialty pizzas and braised short ribs at dinner.
Grand Ave. Grill in Eagle is a locals’ haven. The Western-feeling dining room is the perfect spot to dig into of the comforting and casual American fare that chef Mike Ryan sends to the dining room. From braised lamb shank to herb-roasted salmon, the grill is also known for a mean meat loaf. Eagle’s Pastatively is an intimate little restaurant that makes everyone feel like family. Portion sizes are downright over-the-top, but the food’s so good you’ll be glad. Try the Italian sausage, which comes with a ride-along of pasta, or any of the fresh ravioli.
