Big-beat rockers play Vail

The quintet has released more than a dozen albums, and has a new one out, titled “Elva.” Recorded in a rented house in Hollywood, it’s purported to chronicle the time spent in said house. It’s an eclectic blend of punk harmony and pop hooks, with occasional doses of speed-metal rockabilly, fat guitar work and a nod to reggae – a little bit of everything, no matter what’s expected.

Unwritten Law is led by Scott Russo (lead vocalist) and includes Pat Kim (bass), Steve Morris (guitar) Wade Youman (drums) and Rob Brewer (guitar). They’ll play after punk rock cowboys Bowling for Soup. Specializing in getting tipsy, embarrassing themselves and dissing each other’s mamas, they also play a rollicking show. For more information on either band, visit their Web sites at http://www.unwrittenlaw.com and http://www.bowlingforsoup.com, or call the club at 479-0607. The all-ages show is open to everyone, and begins at 9 p.m.
