Big Head Todd frontman plays solo acoustic set in Avon

AVON, Colorado – Todd Park Mohr of Big Head Todd & the Monsters will perform a solo acoustic show at Agave in Avon Friday. Mohr is the singer and guitarist for the American rock band Big Head Todd & the Monsters, as well as being the band’s namesake and primary lyricist. A founding member of the band, he also occasionally provides keyboards and saxophone in addition to his duties as frontman. Mohr was born in Colorado and is of Korean and German descent. He attended Columbine High School, then Colorado State University in Fort Collins and later transferred to University of Colorado Boulder along with the other members of the band, which achieved some mainstream success in the early to mid-’90s. Mohr helped to form the band Big Head Todd & the Monsters with his friends from high school, while touring the night scene in Denver, Fort Collins, and Boulder. Influenced by jazz music from an early age, he has incorporated several elements of it into his music, developing his own unique sound. Day-of-show tickets are $30. Show-time is 10 p.m. and its a 21-and-over show. Free shuttles will be provided to Eagle-Vail and Avon while TurtleBus will provide rides to Edwards and Vail for $5. Both shuttles leave 15 minutes after the show.
